I believe that.

I believe it because we condemn ourselves. We create our own hells each time we reject the gift of love, each time we choose the darkness over the light. God does not condemn us. Quite the opposite.

Surely God must weep at our ugly decisions. If we are truly to believe in Christ, then we must acknowledge that God seeks over and over and over again to call us into the light. To think otherwise is to deny the very reason for Jesus.

Someone once told me that they didn’t believe in a judgement day. They believed in thousands of judgement days. Every time we choose the darkness we condemn ourselves.

God doesn’t.

We do.
