I think it is a shame that the term "born-again" has taken on such negative connotations for so many of us.

Being born again is the best way of describing what happens when we rediscover the truth. To encounter the realization that God is truly love and that nothing can ever separate us from that love, is to be awakened from a deep and dreadful sleep. It is to be resurrected from the dead.

It is to be born again.

My image of the disciples...and I think this is backed by the Bible...is not of a band of fanatics and true believers who are utterly and unequivocally convinced of the truth of what Jesus says and does but rather a somewhat motley crew of folk like you and me who day after day seem to realize anew the joy of God’s love.

They are born again and again and again.

This is the paradigm for my own spiritual journey. I need to be resurrected again and again and again, for I continue to find myself dying again and again and again.
