At the heart of my faith stands three words from Paul, "Love never ends."

Nothing has shaped my theology more profoundly than those three words. Out of that proclamation comes my understanding of the nature of God. Out of that promise comes my conviction that nothing can separate us from the love of God...not height nor depth nor anything else in all creation...to quote a most reliable source.

Please ponder on this for a moment.

Please ponder on this for the rest of your life.

It is the nature of God to love. God can do no other. There is nothing that you or anyone else can do to end that love. Nothing you can believe or not believe, think or not think, worship or not worship will stop that love.

How dare we think, then, that our religion or our faith or our rituals can control the love of God? How dare we think that we can determine who will share in eternal love and who will not? How dare we think that this God of love would ever allow anyone to be denied the pleasure of God’s company?

God will not give up on you or anyone else.

If it takes your entire lifetime, if it takes God’s entire lifetime, love will not end.

As for prophesies, they will pass away; as for tongues; they will cease; as for denominations, they will end; as for religions, they too will pass away...all of it but love.

All of it but God.
