Confessions of a Christian AgnosticHome

I know that I cannot make anybody believe anything. I can no more do that then force someone to love the music of Bach, the sonnets of Shakespeare or the art of Renoir.

I can tell people to read all the books, study all the creeds, memorize the Bible but none of that gaurantees they they will believe anything. We alone decide what we will believe.

This is some of what I believe: I believe in a God who loves and cherishes me even when I don’t understand or accept that love. I believe in a God who never stops reaching out to a darkened world with the light of Christ. I believe that we are all sisters and brothers in the family of God and that there is no greater joy than accepting that truth.

I cannot make anybody believe but I can live out my belief each day as I seek to journey with Jesus in faith. My faith. My own sometimes faltering, sometimes foolish, sometimes terribly weak faith. My faith.
